Black Bomber Prints
Personal project: Digital poster art and artist branding
This project is a result of my career in the design industry, my passion for film and TV, and my own interests in drawing and artwork. I've always wanted to use my skills as a graphic designer to create my own personal project, but it wasn't until 2020 that I committed the time to make it happen. So, in 2020, Black Bomber Prints was born - something fun for me to do and take pride in, knowing that people would proudly hang my own work on their walls. The branding for this project really reflects me and the kind of design I take inspiration from. I love design work that has a hand-drawn edge, and considering all of the artwork is hand-drawn, it fits perfectly.
It's crucial for me to only create artwork for films or TV shows that either inspire me or hold personal significance. I've found that my best work often emerges when I feel a genuine connection to the original subject matter
I was thrilled to finally print my own work and have the opportunity to choose the paper and other materials. In the design industry, it's a rarity to witness the end product, particularly with printed materials. Usually, you send off the design files and the work goes directly to the client. Therefore, having the chance to experience this process firsthand was incredibly exciting for me.
Another new experience for me was being able to package and post my own work, this added another layer of excitement and gratification. It has been the most rewarding aspect of this journey, knowing that I am personally involved in every step of bringing my creations to life
